SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL (CRIMINAL LAW)

The incumbent is required to assist in the day-to-day management of the Department of Public Prosecution and to perform the more complex Criminal Law legal work. Duties include representing the DPP in the more complex Criminal matters in the High Court and Magistrates' Court, attending interlocutory proceedings and preparing interlocutory matters, performing pre-trial work, instructing and briefing attorneys on matters before the Privy Council, providing advice and opinions on Criminal matters and supervising lower level legal professionals engaged in Criminal Law work. SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL (LEGISLATIVE DRAFTING)

The incumbent is required to assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Department and to perform the more complex legal work in legislative drafting. Duties include supervising lower level legal professionals engaged in legislative drafting, drafting the more advanced and complex legislation, providing advice, guidance and support on legislation being debated; and preparing briefs, Notes for Cabinet and reporting on legislative drafting matters. SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL (CIVIL LAW)

The incumbent is required to assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Department and to perform advanced professional legal work in the area of Civil Law. Duties include representing the State in advanced Civil Law matters, instructing advocate Attorneys-at-law, providing advice and opinions to Ministries/Departments and/or other Government Agencies, drafting, vetting and certifying the more complex Civil/Commercial documents such as agreements, contracts, deeds and leases, and representing the Ministry/Department and/or State at meetings, conferences and other fora. MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER

The incumbent is required to establish and implement or assist in the establishment and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Systems for programmes/projects in a Ministry/Department/Agency. Duties include formulating programme/project outcomes, performance indicators and data capture systems; assisting in new programme/project development; conducting cost benefits and cost effectiveness analyses; maintaining M&E databases and reporting on M&E activities. The incumbent is required to provide support in the planning, execution, monitoring and control of projects in a Ministry/Department. Duties include developing project plans, budget and schedules; implementing project plans; managing and leading project team; monitoring and managing project scope, risks and issues; and reporting on project activities to management and other stakeholders. Duties involve researching material for writing assignments; submitting assignments within agreed timelines and ensuring relevance and currency of content.
