The National Administrator Nursing Services is responsible for providing the nursing inputs required in the development of health policies and systems for regulating, monitoring and evaluating the national health service.
The Manager, Tobacco Control Unit is responsible for setting strategic direction, leading, directing, and monitoring the activities
of a cadre of staff to ensure national compliance with the Tobacco Control Act and implementation of a National Tobacco Control Programme.
Assists the Director, Finance and Accounts, in the achievement of the Directorate’s objectives by establishing and maintaining cost monitoring systems for use in developing budgets, and comparative cost analyses for use in all areas of health care.
The incumbent is responsible for monitoring the maternal and child health activities hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities to ensure that policies and protocols are followed and initiates health promotion activities aimed at preventing and reducing the incidence of HIV transmission from mother to child.
Supervises and instructs Community Nurses in approved methods and techniques of public health nursing in accordance with policies of the Ministry of Health and the Nursing Council. Provides nursing care to patients of the Queen’s Park Counselling centre and Clinic and Field Clinics.
The EPI Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing of all EPI activities of the Ministry of Health. Work involves advising and making recommendations that would enforce decision making on immunization matters including procurement, storage and distribution of vaccines and vaccine supplies.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for conducting audit examinations of varying complexity and performing compliance audits of policies and procedures guided by the financial regulations and relevant standards.
