Police Service

5 GCE O' Level/CXC subjects (General Proficiency) including English Language or equivalent training.
Successful completion of the Police Induction Training Course.
0 - 5 years' experience depending on specialised role.

Successful completion of the examination conducted by the Police Service Commission for promotion to the level of Police Corporal.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Police Service including 2 years' experience in relevant specialised role.

Successful completion of the examination conducted by the Police Service Commission for promotion to the level of Police Sergeant.
Minimum of 8 years experience in the Police Service including 2-3 years in relevant specialised role.

Successful completion of the examination conducted by the Police Service Commission for promotion to Police Inspector.
In-service training certification in relevant specialisation.
Minimum of 10 years experience in the Police Service including 3 years performing in specialised role and 2 years at the level of Police Sergeant.

Diploma from the Joint Services Staff College or equivalent training.
Minimum of twelve (12) years experience in the Police Service including 2-5 years in experience in specialised role and performing the duties of Police Inspector.

Diploma from Joint Services Staff College or equivalent.
Approved training in the principles and techniques of Police Management/Administration such as FBI Courses or equivalent.
In-service training certification depending on specialised role.
A minimum of fifteen 15 years experience in the Police Service and 2 years performing the duties of Assistant Superintendent.

Diploma from the Joint Services Staff College or equivalent.
Training in Police Administration/Management such as FBI courses or equivalent.
In-service training certification depending on specialised role.
A minimum of 18 years in the Police Service including at least 2 years performing the duties of Superintendent of Police.

Advanced training in Police Management such as the Overseas Commanders Programme or equivalent.
Training in Police Management such as the FBI Course or equivalent.
Diploma from the Joint Services Staff College or equivalent.
Minimum of 22 years experience in the Police Service including at least 2 years performing the duties of Senior Superintendent of Police.

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University in Law, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Service Management or other job related field from a recognized university.
10 years' experience of increasing responsibility in law enforcement and training.

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University in Law, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Service Management or other job related field from a recognized university.
15 years' experience of increasing responsibility in law enforcement and training.
