This job requires the incumbent to repair Fire Service vehicles and equipment and to assign and monitor the work of junior staff engaged in similar activities to ensure effective and efficient operation during use. Duties also include conducting road tests and responding to fires and other incidents to provide additional cover as required.

Functions include assigning repair work, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, testing officers for vehicle competence, and responding to fires and other incidents to provide additional cover as required.

This job requires the incumbent to supervise and assist in the coordination of the operations of the Ambulance Sections within the Fire Service. Functions include distributing medical supplies, ensuring routine maintenance checks and tests on vehicles and equipment, and supervising the implementation of triage procedures in mass casualty situations.
