The EPI Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing of all EPI activities of the Ministry of Health. Work involves advising and making recommendations that would enforce decision making on immunization matters including procurement, storage and distribution of vaccines and vaccine supplies.
The Assistant Manager EPI will assist the EPI Manager in administering and directing the EPI activities. The Assistant EPI Manager is responsible for ensuring an effective level of protection to reduce substantially, the morbidity and mortality caused by Vaccine Preventable Diseases.
The incumbent performs specialized duties in the field of Drug Abuse Prevention. Duties include assisting in planning and executing school and community drug abuse prevention (education) programmes and advising and guiding educational institutions, community groups and organizations in developing and executing Drug Abuse Prevention projects and activities. The employee exercises initiative and independent judgment within the established policy of their division and their work is reviewed by a superior through consultations, discussions and reports.
The incumbent in this position is required to coordinate activities related to disaster preparedness, response, mitigation and disaster recovery. He/she must collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategies for disaster prevention and monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of disaster mitigation strategies.
